HFC Free BBQ Sauce

Trying to find BBQ sauce without high fructose corn syrup and loads of sugar can be so frustrating, if it's even possible.  This recipe tastes great and uses better sweeteners.

BBQ Sauce

makes about 1 1/2 cups
olive oil
1/4 an onion finely diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 8-ounce can tomato sauce (or two cans diced tomatoes drained and pureed)
1 tablespoon molasses
2 tablespoons real maple syrup
2 teaspoons worchestershire sauce sauce
1 teaspoon mustard
1 teaspoon salt
2 sprinkles of liquid smoke
a few dashes of hot sauce

Heat a tbl of olive oil in a pan over, add onions and cook until soft, then add garlic and cook for another minute or two.
Add remaining ingredients, heat while stirring. For smoother sauce use hand blender.
Add meat and enjoy!
