Herbed Cream Cheese

When we are on the go in the summer or camping for 9 days or heading to the beach for the day we need something simple and easy to take in a cooler with us.  I really like this one.


8 oz cream cheese
1 Tbl milk
3/8 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp basil (crush well)
1/4 tsp oregano
3/4 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
pinch of black pepper

Mix cream cheese and milk til smooth.  Add all herbs and then mix completely.
We use this for tortilla wraps (whole wheat tortilla, spread with cream cheese then add your choice of lunch meat, cheese, veggies), it makes a great dip or for plain bagels. It's also good on toasted baguettes or french bread.  Thinly slice the bread and toast it in the oven.  Remove and promptly spread cream cheese.  Makes a nice hors d'oeuvre or as a side to a pasta dish.
